The Killers want quick release

The Killers hope to release a new album as soon as possible, but aren’t quite ready yet.

The Killers "hope" to release a new album soon.

The ‘Human’ hitmakers are already working on the follow up to last year’s ‘Battle Born’ but are not quite ready to make any of the sessions public as the group are not all "on the same page".

Drummer Ronnie Vanucci Jr. said: "I hope there’s a new album soon. We’ve been working on stuff. We were in the studio just the week before last. I want to put out a new record now but it’s all about getting us all on the same page."

The group enjoy penning new material while on the road as it gives them a welcome relief from playing the same songs night after night.

Ronnie explained to the Daily Star newspaper: "I bring a guitar with me everywhere. Playing the same songs over and over again is like having the same dinner every night.

"So you want to start getting in the kitchen and experimenting a bit."

The US group picked up Best International Band at the NME Awards earlier this week and admit the accolade meant a lot.

Frontman Brandon Flowers said: "Any NME Award means something to us. Everyone wants to be irreverent and act like it doesn’t mean anything, but it does.

"I learnt about British music from the magazine and our first great review was in NME, which lead to record deals."
