The rock duo thought that they could create their new album in the urban jungle of Los Angeles, but after just a few weeks, the two musicians opted for Benton Harbor, Michigan.
The new studio is quiet and was the house where the two recorded No Wow in 2005. They realized they needed to be in the middle of nowhere to make music.
Singer Allison Mosshart stated, "There were no distractions, and that provides room for creativity. We had to invent things to do, and that kept us on our toes."
The tranquility permitted the duo to create the album Midnight Boom, which will be launched on March 18, under the label Domino Records.
