Jason Bonham, son of late Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, says the band was at the point of doing a reunion tour without lead singer Robert Plant.
Bonham revealed the tidbit in an interview with MusicRadar.com. He shared: "It got as close as you could get. It got real close. You know, we did a year of writing and putting stuff together. I loved working with Jimmy (Page) and John Paul (Jones). It was so much fun. That band…I think we felt more like a band than Black Country Communion."
Black Country Communion is a supergroup Bonham created that "includes blues-rock guitarist and singer Joe Bonamassa, former Deep Purple bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes and ex-Dream Theater keyboardist Derek Sherinian."
According to Bonham, a disagreement with Robert Plant and Jones prevented the reunion tour from taking off.
Jason Bonham is heading out on 30-concert tour in October called Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience. It pays tribute to his late father (who died 30 years ago) and also highlights moments in his own life.
