The new face of Estée Lauder

U.S. beauty company names Joan Smalls as the new global spokesmodel for skin care line.

U.S. cosmetics giant Estée Lauder has introduced Joan Smalls as the new face of its next skin care and cosmetics advertising campaign, reports Coco Perez.

The 22-year-old Puerto Rican beauty is relatively new to the modelling scene, having signed on with New York’s Elite Model Management in 2007.

Speaking of their new muse, the company stated: "We are thrilled to introduce Joan to women around the world. She truly reflects Estée Lauder’s modern vision of global beauty."

After watching fashion programs, Smalls decided to try her luck in 2007. Since then she has walked the runway for everyone from Christian Dior and Givenchy to Marc Jacobs and Gucci. Known for her long legs and luscious pout, she has become one of the most in-demand models.

“Joan’s smile, warmth and positive energy are perfect for the Estée Lauder brand,” said Aerin Lauder, Senior Vice President, Creative Director, Estée Lauder. “She is a great addition to our global faces.”

In becoming a brand ambassador for Estée Lauder, the young woman follows in the footsteps of Hilary Rhoda, Carolyn Murphy, Elizabeth Hurley, Constance Jablonski and Liu Wen. The new global advertising campaign featuring Smalls will debut in May.
