Organizers have already published two concurrent lists of contenders for the best car and truck of the year.
The 15 cars competing for the title make up a diverse range, including the Kia Soul, Porsche Panamera, Toyota Prius and Volkswagen Golf VI. Among those cars on the list, we find one hybrid and two diesels.
In the truck category, which includes large and small SUVs, we find the Honda Crosstour and the Audi Q5. Again, the list features a mixed selection of models.
After the Hyundai Genesis and the Ford F-150 in 2009, who is going to take the title for 2010? The answer will be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show.
