A CD paying homage to the cult group of the late Kurt Cobain, will arrive in stores on November 27 under the American Laundromat Records. The music is already available on iTunes.
Fourteen artists collaborated for the album entitled, Dig for Fire: A Tribute to Pixies, including artists such as They Might Be Giants, The Rosebuds and OK Go, who performed the songs Havalina, Break My Body and Gigantic.
The rumour that Mogwai will also perform on the disc has been confirmed. The band performs the seventh song on the CD, Gouge Away. J Mascis and Dinosaur Jr. will not participate in the project.
The cover of the CD was produced by Symon Larbalestier, who worked on Surfer Roas, Doolittle and other projects for the Pixies.
