The Porsche Boxster Spyder

The Boxster Spyder was inspired by the 550 Spyder of 1953, and as expected, it’s deliciously retro.

The Stuttgart manufacturer presents the Boxster Spyder as the most radical of their trademark small convertibles.  Thanks to a lighter frame and aluminum doors, the Spyder weighs a mere 1275 kilograms.

The mechanics of the machine are also impressive.  The 6-cylinder 3.4-litre engine increases horsepower by 10, bumping the total up to 320 hp.  With the centre of gravity lowered by 20 mm and a standard limited slip differential, this Boxster delivers sound performance to complement its stylistic flair. The Boxster Spyder can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, with a top speed of 267 km/h.

Hitting the market in February 2010, the Boxster Spyder will come with a price tag of $72 900.
