The Prince’s Trust are throwing a pop music festival in Birmingham this summer.
The foundation, which has changed the lives of more than 700,000 vulnerable young people since 1976, will hold the Fusion Festival in the city’s iconic Cofton Park from August 31 to September 1 to help raise money for the youth charity.
Up to 20 pop acts are set to perform for 60,000 fans over the weekend, which is in association with British radio station Capital FM.
Festival Spokesman Mike Owen said: "We felt the time was right for a brand new music festival for the UK’s 2nd [biggest] city and we are so excited to be working with such a fantastic organisation as The Princes Trust and with the UK’s number one hit music station, Capital FM. We’ve got a brilliant line-up this year and this is only the beginning for Fusion Festival."
Paul Brown, director of The Prince’s Trust, added: "We’re thrilled to be involved in the Fusion Festival, which will bring together Britain’s top pop acts to raise vital funds for disadvantaged young people.
"Almost a million of our young people are struggling to find a job, leaving them with little hope for the future. Thanks to the Fusion Festival, The Prince’s Trust will be able to change more young lives for the better."
Each ticket sold will result in a £5 donation to the trust, set up by Prince Charles after serving his duty in the Royal Navy.
