Organizers of the GlobalGathering festival decided to commission a survey to find out who was the best in dance music today.
A poll asked over 2,000 people attending clubs and festivals to name the most influential dance music group or artist.
Hailing from Essex in England, The Prodigy came in first with an impressive 29% of the vote. They have several hits to their credit like Firestarter, Smack My Bitch Up and Breathe. The album Invaders Must Die was released last year and proved the trio are still at the top of their game.
The band beat out popular French duo Daft Punk and another renowned British group, Faithless.
Other famous names appearing in the top ten include Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox and the Chemical Brothers.
The GlobalGathering festival gets down on July 30 and 31 in Stratford-Upon-Avon. The British festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary and features Faithless and Dizzee Rascal headlining this year.
