The Quebec National comes to life in the NAHL

Lance et compte is one of the most cult series in Quebec history. Pierre Lambert, Marc Gagnon, Jacques Mercier and company left their mark on the minds of thousands of Quebecers.

The National de Québec team we follow in the series will finally come to life. Unfortunately, it won’t be in the NHL, but in the North American Hockey League (NAHL).

The team unveiled its new colors on social networks on Wednesday afternoon.

The organization confirmed that it had been inspired by the colors and image of the Lance et compte team, which in turn was referring to the Quebec Nordiques.

However, the members of the organization made sure that the choice of name suited the author of the series, Réjean Tremblay, who gladly agreed to let them use the name.

The Quebec City team will play its games at the Complexe Sportif Bonair in L’Ancienne-Lorette. The location of four local games remains uncertain, however. Perhaps the team will spoil itself with a match at the Centre Vidéotron!

The National will attract spectators not only with its players, but also with one of its coaches. Former NHL player Donald Brashear will take over as assistant coach next season. He played in the NAHL last year.

If the National can be as successful in the NAHL as they were in Lance et Compte, fans will be very happy.

Rest assured, head coach Daniel Gauthier has confirmed that he will be a little gentler with his players than Jacques Mercier was!

The Quebec National will play its first-ever home game on October 5 against Assurancia de Thetford.
