The Rollings Stones Arrive in China

The legendary rock group, The Rolling Stones, have arrived in China to perform for the first time in that country.

On Saturday, Mick Jagger’s group will present a concert on Shanghai’s Grand Stage before 8,000 fans.  In 2003, the Stones were set to play in China, but the show was cancelled due to the SARS epidemic.

China, which recently allowed more westernized ideals into the mainstream, censored the Rolling Stones’ disc, 40 Licks in 2002.  The songs Brown Sugar, Honky Tonk Woman, Beast of Burden and Let’s Spend the Night Together were all cut from the album for their suggestive lyrics.
