Columbia Pictures revealed to Comingsoon.net that The Smurfs movie will be shown in 3D.
Based on the little blue characters created by Belgian animator Pierre Culliford, better known as Peyo, the film is headed to the silver screen on December 17, 2010.
Not many details have been revealed regarding the plot of the new adventure, but we do know that the script was penned by David Stern and David Weiss, and that Colin Brady is the film’s director.
Created in 1958, The Smurfs became such a hit that they inspired the creation of figurines, toys, a theme park and a television series.
