Scott Weiland, the former singer of the group who is now part of the band Velvet Revolver, stated that the Stone Temple Pilots were preparing for a reunion.
The group split up in 2003 after launching a compilation of their greatest hits entitled Thank You. The band members felt that they needed to try new things and go in different directions.
The Stone Temple Pilots also thought they were getting too old, although most of the members were in their forties. The group will follow in the footsteps of the Rolling Stones, who also has a comeback scheduled for 2008. The Stone Temple Pilots will probably plan their reunion after Velvet Revolver’s international tour is completed.
