The Voice follows American Idol on the road

Eight finalists will tour U.S. this summer.

The new NBC talent show, The Voice, is planning to send its eight finalists on the road this summer, copying the Fox talent show American Idol, reports Billboard.

Finalists Beverly McClellan, Vicci Martinez, Dia Frampton, Javier Colon, Nakia, Xenia, Casey Weston and Frenchie Davis will tour major U.S. centers. However, the producers weren’t able to afford sending along the four pop star coaches from the first season.

Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine will be putting their energy into other projects. Cee Lo Green is so busy, he recently had to bow out of Rihanna’s Loud tour.

The grand finale of The Voice will be broadcast tonight, June 29, and viewers will finally discover which of the four finalists – Beverly McClellan, Vicci Martinez, Dia Frampton and Javier Colon – was voted winner.

The Voice tour will make stops in Los Angeles (July 27), Las Vegas (July 30), Chicago (August 2), Boston (August 4), Wallingford (August 5) and New York (August 6).
