Payette is a Canadian journalist who is demanding $70 000 in compensation from The White Stripes who used her voice from a radio show she did on Radio Canada, in the song Jumble, Jumble, from the album De Stijl in 2000.
Payette was made aware of the fact that it was her voice recently by an acquaintance. She then filed a lawsuit with the Superior Court in Montreal since she never gave permission for her voice to be used.
