The White Stripes Without a Voice

The music group The White Stripes has cancelled four concerts in Japan due to the lead singer’s health.

While in Tokyo for previously scheduled concerts, lead singer Jack White became ill and lost his voice.  A doctor has ordered the singer not to talk or sing for the next two weeks.

"We sincerely apologise to our Japanese fans and friends and hope to reschedule dates as soon as we can," a message on the band’s website said.

The group will return to the scene on January 20 for a concert in Auckland, New Zealand.
