Carey, whose parents divorced when she was three, has revealed that she wants to have a solid love life before becoming a mother, according to People magazine.
The 37 year-old singer discussed her hopes on The View yesterday (October 23). She said, "If I were to have a child, I would want to be married with a stable family environment."
Carey, who said last February that she was not in a hurry to have children, said yesterday that her parents’ divorce had an affect on her thinking. Carey said of her upbringing, "I’m not saying it was unstable, like the worst thing on earth." Carey added that she would like to provide a different atmosphere for her children.
After being asked if there was a special man in her life, Carey responded by saying that she didn’t know the answer to that question at the moment.
