The Writer’s Guild of America Refuses to Work for Golden Globes

The Writer’s Guild of America refused any agreement that would permit its writers to work for the Golden Globe Awards.

According to People magazine, the present strike may cause problems for the Golden Globes because the Writer’s Guild refused to work for this gala on January 13.

The association decided after voting not to work for the Golden Globes and is foreseeing the same decision for the Oscars, although the Academy has not yet requested that they work. They also refused that any clips of films be used when awards are given to the stars.

Dick Clark, producer of the Golden Globe Awards, stated that this decision was disappointing, but the organizers are optimistic that an agreement will be achieved before the event.
