Sony has announced the preliminary earnings at the box office for the film.
On Tuesday evening (October 27), the pre-premiere earned $2.2 million USD in North America alone, which has never been seen before on a Tuesday in October.
Sony estimates that the numbers tallied from the official opening date (Wednesday, October 28) will hit the roof, with possibly over 15 million dollars.
The studio paid 60 million for the film rights and invested around 12 million more to promote the film worldwide. The preliminary data suggests that there will be no deficit.
The documentary presents Jackson’s last rehearsals as he was preparing for his London concert series.
