TIFF announces 25 world premieres

The Toronto International Film Festival announces part of the programme for its 35th edition.

At a preliminary press conference yesterday, The Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) amped up excitement for the festival’s 35th edition by announcing some of the premieres it will be hosting in September.

They’ll open the festival wil the traditional can-con in the form of Michael Mcgowan’s Score: A Hockey Musical, starring Grease icon Olivia Newton-John.

Among the marquee events will be Robert Redford’s latest, The Conspirator, starring James McAvoy and Robin Wright.

The whole programme will be announced in August; until then, TIFF has only hinted at some of the major premieres. Among these are  Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Biutiful, Darrren Aronofsky’s Black Swan, John Madden’s The Debt, Richard J. Lewis’s Barney’s Version, Ben Affleck’s The Town, Woody Allen’s  You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, John Cameron Mitchell’s Rabbit Hole, and Guillaume Canet’s Litttle White Lies, among others.

TIFF runs from September 9 to 19th in Toronto.
