There is news that Burton is ready to take on another fun project. Producer Roy Lee (The Departed, How to Train Your Dragon) told SlashFilm.com that Tim Burton will direct the fantasy film Monsterpocalypse. Lee said: "I can confirm that Tim Burton is developing it to direct."

The producer went on to add that John August is writing the screenplay with advice from game creator and film co-producer Matt Wilson. Monsterpocapylse will be shot in 3D and should arrive in theatres in 2012.

Lee offered a brief story description: "Giant monsters come to earth and start wreaking havoc… most of the movie is going to be during that battle between the giant robots and the giant monsters."

Four-time Academy Award winner Ken Ralston will create the film’s visual effects. He has previously worked on films such as Forrest Gump, Back to the Future, Star Wars.
