Tim Burton To Work in 3D

Disney has revealed that Tim Burton will be directing two feature films in 3D.

The filmmaker will be working in 3D on the films Alice in Wonderland and Frankenweenie.

Burton, who has just finished work on the film Sweeney Todd, will begin work on Alice in Wonderland in May, using the same technology as the film Beowulf, which captures the performance of live actors and transfers the images into animated characters.

The adaptation of the classic Lewis Carroll story has been adapted for the film by Linda Woolverton (The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast).

Following that project, the 49 year-old director will begin working on Frankenweenie.  The project was inspired by his 1984 animated film which follows the story of a puppy brought back to life by its owners.
