Timbaland wasn’t trying to die

Media reports that the rapper and film director tried to kill himself are false.

Early yesterday morning, media reported that Timbaland had fled his home by car in order to take his own life after having stolen a watch worth two million dollars.

But the man in question denies it all. "Something did happen," he told Ryan Seacrest, on the latter’s radio broadcast. "It wasn’t a watch [that was stolen]. It was something else." And,  he "took a drive to figure out how I’m going to handle it,"

According to People, a close friend contacted authorities because he was worried after the rapper disappeared, saying that the artist had taken drugs before getting behind the wheel.

When police traced Timbaland’s Escalade, he assured them that everything was fine and returned to the studio to work with Keri Hilson.

"I don’t know a person who would [try to] commit suicide [and then] be at the studio," he observed.
