Time to hit the slopes in Quebec

2011 winter season officially underway at Mont Saint-Sauveur.

Famous resort Mont Saint-Sauveur in the Quebec Laurentians kicked off its 2011-2012 ski season on Sunday (October 30), with a special costumed ski event on Halloween.

According to the resort’s official website, Mont Saint-Sauveur boasts the largest night skiing area in the world and is the best-known snow park in the region.

Through its ski school, over 8,000 new enthusiasts learn to ski each season, while world champions like Stéphane Rochon, Alexandre Bilodeau and Mikaël Kingsbury still ski at the hill.

Tickets are available in four-hour blocks, full days, nights, or multi-day passes. A four-hour day ski costs $44.36 and a full-day pass will run you $52.19. For night skiing – 3 p.m. until closing – a pass is only $39.14. For the true ski enthusiast, a season pass costs $789 for adults 18 to 54 years old, which also comes with discounts on lift tickets, ski lessons, repairs and rentals.
