Variety reports that Tobey Maguire will replace James McAvoy in The Details, an indie dark comedy by Jacob Estes.
McAvoy had to quit the project due to a scheduling conflict. Maguire joins the cast with Elizabeth Banks, Laura Linney, Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert and Anna Friel. The project is set to begin filming in August in Seattle.
The Details is about a young married couple who are struggling with infidelity and a rocky relationship. When a pack of hungry raccoons invade their backyard, the couple disagrees on the best way to get rid of them, which leads to a terrible series of events that culminates in a murder.
Meanwhile, Tobey Maguire can be seen in the war drama Brothers, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman, set to hit theatres on December 4.
