People magazine is reporting that Tom Cruise has been named the winner of this year’s Celebrity Ernie Award in Australia. The award’s organisers have given the prize to Cruise, only the Mission: Impossible star claims that he never made the comment in question. The winning quote was about Katie Holmes when she was three months pregnant with their daughter, Suri. Cruise, 44, reportedly said, "I’ve got Katie tucked away so no one will get to us until my child is born."
According to a representative for Cruise, the actor never made the statement. Arnold Robinson said, "Tom’s comments that they have attributed to him are completely fabricated
Anyone who knows him knows that he is a complete gentleman and would never ever say such a thing."
The representative added, "His mother, his sisters, Kate and his children are the most important things in the world to him. Women have always played a positive and important role in who he is as a man."
