Seeing that Katie Holmes was so concerned about her sister Tamera, Tom Cruise decided to invite her to live with them in their Beverly Hills home.
Tamera Holmes became a widow after her husband died of a heart attack on April 12. She filed for divorce in February, but the situation has become even more trying, now that she is the single mother of two boys.
"Katie was so worried and upset for Tammy. They are really close and Katie wanted to help any way she could. Then Tom came up with the idea of inviting Tammy and the boys to live with them. It meant Katie could keep a close watch on her sister and help her through this tough time," a source told the National Enquirer.
