Author Andrew Morton wrote Cruise’s unauthorized biography and claims that the star hit on Garner just before she separated from her first husband, Scott Foley.
According to this controversial book, Cruise left a message for Garner in 2004 on her voice mail asking her "if she knew what freedom was". Apparently Garner chose not to reply to this message.
The book, Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography, alleges that Katie Holmes and Cruise’s daughter, Suri, was conceived using the donated sperm of the founder of the Church of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard.
Cruise’s lawyer, Bert Fields, wanted to make it clear that Morton’s book was a “pack of lies”.
