Tom Jones will release a new album next week, Praise and Blame. The album is being compared to Johnny Cash’s American Recordings. The 70-year old singer is now touring to promote it and stopped by the Latitude Festival in the UK last week (July 15) to kick off the show. He also played a second show there on July 18.
Backstage at the festival, Jones brought up the possibility of a new collaboration with The Killers. He shared: "I’ve spoken to Brandon Flowers. He said he admired what I’d done in my career. There’s a connection there because he’s from Las Vegas, and of course I’ve performed there so many times over the years."
Now a rep for the Welsh singer nips the story in the bud by commenting: "There are always rumours, and this is one. All Tom has to do is mention that he’s spoken with someone, and it gets taken to another level."
Who knows? The singer also commented at the festival: "The material has to be right. That’s always been my main concern, with whichever people I’ve worked with." Maybe Jones will get together with The Killers in the future.
