1. Elias Pettersson spoils Ryan O’Reilly’s 1000th game
The second and final duel of the evening pitted the Preds against the Vancouver Canucks.
Former Leaf Ryan O’Reilly was playing the 1000th game of his NHL career. His teammates imitated his pre-game preparation.

In a 5-2 loss, O’Reilly picked up an assist on his team’s second goal. He now has seven points in nine games this season.
In addition to the nine games in Nashville, he has played 427 games in Colorado, 224 in Buffalo, 327 in St. Louis and 13 more in Toronto.
In the end, the hero of the match was Elias Pettersson, his opponent. The Swede scored three goals and now has six games of two points or more this season. Let’s hope you had him in your pool last night…

2. William Nylander enters the Leafs’ record book
As a free agent at the end of the season, William Nylander is looking for a huge contract. And let’s just say he’s giving himself every chance of getting one.
With a point in the Leafs’ 4-1 loss to the Kings, the Swede now has a point in the Leafs’ first nine games of the season. He is the first to achieve such a feat in Toronto’s glorious history.

On the winning side, Andreas Englund, a former second-round pick of the Senators in 2014, scored his first NHL goal. This was his 89th game in the big league.
