A total of eight games were played last night in the National Hockey League.
The Habs weren’t in action, but let’s take a look around to see what caught our eye. Here are the results:
No team had won a game this season after trailing by three or more goals in the third period, but that all changed Tuesday thanks to the @LAKings and @SanJoseSharks.#NHLStats: https://t.co/NPmknlj8CC pic.twitter.com/k9Tc3Z3Ry9

1: Hat trick for Hertl in dramatic Sharks comeback
Midway through the third period of the Sharks-Islanders game, New York was leading by three goals.
Victory was all but in the bag, especially with the Isles facing the National League’s worst club.
But… not so fast.
Tomas Hertl woke up and scored twice in the final 20 minutes to complete his hat trick and tie the game.
His three goals were beautiful, too:

And what had to happen happened in overtime: the Sharks scored to escape with the victory.
It was a spectacular comeback for the San Jose outfit, and it came to fruition with a goal from William Eklund :

2: Family reunion in Vancouver
It was a beautiful day for the Hughes family yesterday. Why?
Because in the evening, Jack and Luke took on their big brother Quinn in Vancouver, and let’s just say the game didn’t disappoint.

Luke scored on an assist from Jack…
Jack finished the game with a goal and two assists…
And Quinn added two more assists to bring his season-to-date total to 36 points.
There were plenty of goals in the game, and Brock Boeser scored his 18th of the campaign.
He leads the NHL in that regard, by the way:

The game ended 6-5… and it was Jesper Bratt who gave his team victory in overtime.
The Swede had a good game, scoring two goals:

3: Kings… Phew
When the Canadiens took on the Kings in Los Angeles, we all said the same thing.
“Ayoye. That’s a good team!”
Yeah. The Kings’ depth, both offensively and defensively, makes them one of the most dangerous teams in the NHL.
The Kings worked hard, but were able to get back into the game in the third period, scoring three goals in the space of 6 minutes and 15 seconds.
The Blue Jackets led 3-0 going into the third…

As in the Coyotes game, the Kings completed the comeback in overtime.
It was Drew Doughty who played the hero for his team :

4: Leo Carlsson is really hot
Leo Carlsson has been living up to expectations since the start of the season.
The second overall pick in the last draft is adapting superbly to the NHL game, and what we’re seeing right now leads us to believe that he’s destined for a bright future.
The young Ducks player scored his eighth goal of the campaign last night and now has 13 points in 17 games.
It’s hard to ask for more:

5: Big win for the Sens
The mighty New York Rangers visited Ottawa last night.
The Sens are doing more or less well these days: the Ottawa outfit had lost three of their last four games before facing the Blue Shirts, but the team’s performance last night was encouraging.
The Senators won the game 6-2, and it was the team effort that stood out in the victory.
This should help the team gain some confidence.
