1. A seventh goal for Jesperi Kotkaniemi
Yesterday, the Hurricanes were down 2-0 midway through the third period. They still found a way to win. And they didn’t even need overtime.
A 3-2 victory.
Andrei Svechnikov, with just under two minutes left in the game, scored the winning goal.

2. Seventh straight loss for the Wild
The Minnesota Wild had high aspirations for the 2023-2024 season. But things are going badly, very badly…

In the Wings’ victory, David Perron scored the game’s first goal in the opening moments.

Then, the Quebecer scored his 300th career goal early in the third period.

On the losing side, Joel Eriksson Ek was the lone scorer for his team.
It was his 10th goal of the season, his sixth on the power play.

Ryan Hartman was also in the news, but for all the wrong reasons.

3. Connor McDavid’s five-point game
After a slow start to the season, the real Connor McDavid is back. In his last two games, he’s collected nine points.
Yesterday, he finished with a goal and four assists.

Despite an 8-2 win for the Oilers, the game started badly for them. They gave up two goals early in the game.

Fortunately his captain was there to carry the team on his back.
In the win, Connor Brown finally collected his first Edmonton point.
It’s his first in the NHL since April 2022.

4. Blues spoil Nick Foligno’s 1100th game
In the afternoon, the Blues visited the Chicago Blackhawks.
Not even five minutes in, St. Louis was leading 2-0.
Jake Neighbours, who finished with two goals, broke the ice first.

Then, Kevin Hayes doubled his team’s lead with his fourth goal of the season.

In the end, the visitors held their nerve to win 4-2. They thus spoiled Nick Foligno’s 1100th NHL game.

5. 25 points for Filip Forsberg
After 20 games in a Nashville Predators season, nobody in franchise history has done better than Filip Forsberg in terms of points.
Yesterday, Nashville hosted the Jets, and the forward picked up an assist on his team’s winning goal.
He now has 25 points in 20 games.
