Yesterday, five NHL games were on the schedule. One was even played in Sweden.
Here are the results and highlights:

1. Two Quebecers end their battle
At around 5:30 last night, the Blue Jackets paid a visit to the Philadelphia Flyers. Patrik Laine was not in uniform for the occasion, and was left out.
And Columbus escaped with a 5-2 victory. It wasn’t the goals or the checking that caught my attention. No, one fight in particular caught my attention, as it involved two Quebecers.
Nicolas Deslauriers and Mathieu Olivier exchanged right hands. And both decided to put an end to the dance.
It’s a sight to behold.
They agreed to end the fight 🤣 pic.twitter.com/2Q1XQeMc4I

Former Canadian Ryan Poehling, meanwhile, is enjoying a good run. In his last three games, he has collected four points.
Yesterday, he finished with two assists and a shorthanded goal.

A lucky goal, but he’ll take it.
On the losing side, Johnny Gaudreau picked up a point (again) against the Flyers. He’s enjoying himself against them.
With the assist on Ivan Provorov’s goal, that’s 2-9-11 for Gaudreau in 9 NHL games in Philadelphia, and at least a point in all 9 https://t.co/eWqzTHLnrm

Things are still bad in Ohio…
#CBJ are winless in their last 9 (0-8-1) now.. 1-10-3 in their last 14.

2. Alex Nedeljkovic whitewashes the Golden Knights
Two days ago, Alex Nedeljkovic scored an AHL goal.
Here it is, for those who missed it:

The goalie isn’t likely to come down from his cloud anytime soon. Yesterday, he blanked the Vegas Golden Knights.
He stopped all 38 shots he faced.
Just two days after scoring a goal in the AHL, Alex Nedeljkovic returned to the @penguins and recorded his first shutout of the season.#NHLStats: https://t.co/ST3aPKLQJo pic.twitter.com/ggoDAJNkgC

In the win, Evgenii Malkin played any way but with a stick on his side.
First, he thought he was a soccer player.

Then he played with a right-handed stick.

The Russian finally ended his game with a goal (with his own stick).

Ryan Graves and Noel Acciari were the other two scorers for the winners.

3. William Nylander can’t be stopped
Yesterday morning, a game between the Leafs and the Wild was played at 8am. The game took place in Sweden.
Who better than William Nylander, a Swede, to score the winning goal in overtime in front of his father?
Michael Nylander’s reaction to his son’s OT winner is everything. 😂 pic.twitter.com/tpFVa2WptF
– Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) November 19, 2023
Since the start of the season, Nylander hasn’t played a game in which he hasn’t collected a point. In 17 games, he has 27 points, including 12 goals. In a year when his contract is expiring, this is a good sign.
He could hit the jackpot next July, that’s for sure.
Will Toronto be able to give him what he wants? They might. After all, many Toronto players become free agents.
In two games for his homeland in 2023-2024, Willy collected five points and is now the NHL’s fourth-highest scorer. He’s unstoppable!
In the win, Auston Matthews and Mitchell Marner also did well, collecting two points each. Morgan Rielly had three.

4. Rasmus Dahlin wins in Chicago
With a 3-2 victory over the Blackhawks, the Sabres ended a three-game losing streak yesterday.
Rasmus Dahlin led his team to victory with a goal and two assists.
His first goal was his 50th of his career.
That’s @rasmusdahlin00‘s 50th career goal! 🦬#NHLStats: https://t.co/BegdtM3kr8 pic.twitter.com/PNsQFXZsyp

And on the power play, he did it all for Jeff Skinner, who just had to complete in an open net.

Despite the loss, Connor Bedard picked up a point. So far this season, the rookie has 15 points in 16 games.
Not bad!

5. Third consecutive defeat for the Ducks
The Ducks are off to a good start this season, but Anaheim is currently experiencing a bit of a slump.
With a 3-1 loss to the Blues, the California team has now lost its last three games.
Ducks lose their 3rd straight, they’re 2-5-0 in their last 7.
– NHL Watcher (@NHL_Watcher) November 20, 2023
And in their last seven games, the Ducks have lost five.
The team’s only scorer last night was Mason McTavish, his eighth of the season.

On the winning side, goaltender Joel Hofer was the big hero of the game. He stopped 30 of the hosts’ 31 shots.
