Tori Amos Says Farewell to Epic

Tori Amos has become an independent artist and is no longer under contract with Epic Records.

Tori Amos’ manager announced that the singer and Epic Records are no longer associated, and the singer has chosen to work alone on her next project, reported Billboard.com.

Her manager, John Witherspoon, explained that like many contemporary artists, the singer has decided to find more exciting ways to make music, rather than working under the restrictions of a major record label.

Amos’ next album, which is expected to come out in spring 2009, will be her latest musical project under way this summer.

The artist worked with Atlantic Records from 1992 to 2001. She later signed on with Epic, under which her last album, American Doll Posse, was released in 2007.
