The economic crisis also played a role in the designer’s clothing creations for fall. Karan wanted to offer items that would be timeless, long-lasting, and that could be worn on different occasions. She explained, "Fall 2009 was all about strength and security – giving a woman timeless, sensual, tailored clothes that empower her and make her feel good."
