Training: Rafaël Harvey-Pinard left as quickly as he arrived

During the three-game trip to Vegas, Arizona and St. Louis, the Canadiens looked good in the first duel, but ended up losing the others by playing a little worse. Two, in fact.

But the CH didn’t just lose its games: it also lost the services of Rafaël Harvey-Pinard. The Quebecer suffered a “lower-body” injury in Arizona and was unable to play in Saint-Louis.

It was Juraj Slafkovsky who benefited on Saturday night… but that’s not my point this morning.

My point is that we’re going to keep an eye on RHP’s health. After all, he hasn’t been placed on the injured list (Gustav Lindstrom lost his spot when he was traded to the Rocket), which leads us to believe that the forward’s absence may be short-lived.

That’s why we were keeping an eye on the training session this morning.

Of course, it was clear that RHP was going to be there, since the Canadiens first took the time to take the traditional team photo. He was on the Bell Centre ice for the occasion.

But it was what followed that was interesting.

According to the journalists on hand, Harvey-Pinard gave a few skate strokes after the photo, but nothing more. So he didn’t take part in the training session as such.

It’s impossible to draw any definitive conclusions about tomorrow’s game just on the basis of this news. After all, maybe he’ll be able to skate tomorrow.

That said, it doesn’t look good for RHP.

Details to follow…
