Transformers Pushed Back Until 2007

The big-screen adaptation of the popular series Transformers has been delayed, and the expected release date has been changed from November, 2006 to July, 2007.

The screenwriters for the project, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, have been in London working on Mission: Impossible 3, and therefore haven’t been able to devote time to Transformers.

The film, which follows the popular television series of the same name, will be directed by Michael Bay (The Island, Armageddon).  Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producer.

Launched in 1984, the Transformers brand of toys has been successful around the globe.
