Trent Reznor and Karen O take on Led Zeppelin

Immigrant Song featured on trailer for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Since his successful debut in the land of film soundtracks last year, including an Oscar and Golden Globe for The Social Network – in partnership with Atticus Ross – Trent Reznor’s star has ascended quickly within the Hollywood ranks.

Following on the heels of that successful collaboration, Reznor and Ross have once again teamed up with director David Fincher, this time to score the soundtrack for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

One of the most anticipated films of the year, the American remake of the Swedish film based on the first book in the popular Millennium trilogy written by Stieg Larsson, recently had its trailer debut online. The images in the preview are accompanied by the pounding beat of a cover version of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song by Trent Reznor and Karen O.

Frontwoman of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Karen O, and Nine Inch Nails singer-composer Trent Reznor, provide an updated take on the 1970 song, with lots of synth and electronic percussion.

The trailer can currently be seen (and heard) in several theaters, where the preview is sure to whet the appetite of Larsson fans for the film’s debut December 21.

You can hear the new cover version here.
