Summit Entertainment announced that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will not only be released in traditional theatres, but also in IMAX version.

The film will be digitally adapted with this technology to offer better picture quality.  This will be the first film from Summit Entertainment to be presented in IMAX theatres.

Eclipse is being directed by David Slade (30 Days of Night, Hard Candy).  In this film, Bella will be in danger again, and will be forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob.  Her decision is likely to arouse an old conflict between vampires and werewolves.

In the film, the role of Victoria will be played by Bryce Dallas Howard, who is replacing Rachelle Lefevre.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse is scheduled to open in theatres on June 30, 2010.

The first Twilight film collected $380 million at box offices worldwide.  The second film of the franchise, New Moon, has amassed $500 million in just the three weeks since its release.
