Two Monet exhibitions in Paris this fall

One of the most popular Impressionist painters will draw massive crowds.

One of the surest bets in painting, if not the surest, is French impressionist artist Claude Monet. The first major exhibition of his work in over 30 years will take place at the Grand Palais in Paris.

Called simply Claude Monet (1840-1926), the exhibition is starting to create ripples of excitement in the City of Lights. A whopping 83,000 people have already reserved tickets online.

Guided tours are fully booked and workshops for at-risk kids will likely soon follow. The exhibition opens in five days, on September 22, and runs until January 24, 2011.

Opening hours have been extended by 30% in anticipation of the vast number of people expected to visit the exhibition.

The exhibition’s temporary website provides all the details on how to reserve your tickets (Réserver vos billets) online. Note the site is in French only.

Another exhibition is planned at the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris. Called Monet: son Musée, it runs from October 7, 2010 until February 20, 2011. This museum is entirely devoted to works by this celebrated Impressionist master.
