Scarlett Johansson and U2 will be sharing a New York stage.

For one night only, on October 4, the superband and the superstar will join a host of other artists for an AIDS benefit show at Carnegie Hall.

Hal Willner Presents: An Evening with Gavin Friday and Friends will be a show from the (RED)NIGHTS concert series, benefitting those who suffer from the horrible disease.  Other artists on hand for the show will be Courtney Love, Antony Hegarty, The Johnsons, Martha and Rufus Wainwright, Laurie Anderson, Flo and Eddie of the Turtles, Shane McGowan of the Pogues, Lydia Lunch.  Gavin Friday is the singer of the band Virgin Prunes, as well as a childhood friend of Bono.

A portion of the funds raised at the event will go to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

The evening’s MC will be Hall Willner, a music producer who has worked with Lou Reed and Marianne Faithfull, in addition to writing music for the film Million Dollar Hotel, based on a script by Bono.

Chloe Webb, who played Nancy in the film Sid & Nancy, and Andrea Corr of The Corrs are also expected to attend.
