The band took a short break during Easter holiday, and is now back in the studio in Dublin. They are working on their new album with producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, reported Billboard.com.
The group wrote on their website, "Everyone [is] still hoping the new album will be out this year."
This as-yet untitled album will be followed by a tour in 2009. It will be the group’s first tour since landing a 12-year deal with Live Nation Artists.
On July 22, Universal will be launching remastered versions of their first three albums: Boy (1980), October (1981), and War (1983).
