U2 Re-Releases Unforgettable Fire

Just like the Beatles with their latest remastered releases last week, U2 continues to re-release albums.

The band, who has already released new versions of 4 albums, including The Joshua Tree for its 20th anniversary, announced that The Unforgettable Fire will be the next album returning to shelves.  The original album was released on October 1, 1984.

The remastering of all of U2’s albums has been done under the supervision of The Edge, U2’s guitarist.

The release of the new Unforgettable Fire album will coincide with its 25th anniversary, and will include B-sides, rarities, alternate versions, and a DVD featuring rare clips of U2 shows, among others.

A brand new song, Disappearing Act, will also be included.  The album goes on sale on October 27.  Strangely, this news has not been announced by the band or their record label, but rather via a story printed on gift bags with purchases of U2 items at their concerts.
