Vacheron Constantin Watch Gets Top Prize

Vacheron Constantin earned the award for Watch of the Year, thanks to its Historiques American 1921 model.

Introduced in 2008, the Vacheron Constantin watch was picked as 2009’s "Watch of the Year" on October 28.

With the design of the model, the brand paid homage to the audacious style of the 1920s. Inspired by a classic, elegant and subdued look with an original twist, the 18-carat pink gold watch has a diameter of 40 mm.

The "Women’s Watch of the Year" prize went to Cartier’s Baignoire Grand Modèle, while the Pershing 002 watch by Parmigiani Fleurier won the "Public Watch of the Year" award.

Each year, the Swiss media group Ringier joins forces with Montres Passion magazine to reward the prizes. The winners are chosen by an independent jury of professional watchmakers. The watches must be made in Switzerland and sold on the market.
