According to Variety, the 48-year-old actor will replace Will Arnett who was originally hired to do the voice for KITT. There was a conflict of interest with Arnett since he does promotional work for GM and KITT is a Ford Mustang. The actor was asked to pull out of the project.
Arnett stated, “I was very excited at the prospect of playing the part of KITT in the new Knight Rider movie. However, because of a long relationship with General Motors as the voice of GMC Trucks, I had to respectfully withdraw from the project.”
