Valentino designs for Gap

Gap gets a new collection from Italian fashion designer.

To celebrate the opening of the first Gap boutique in Italy, the Italian fashion house Valentino will launch a women’s limited edition clothing collection, reports Vogue.

The seven-piece collection features large ruffles in its reworking of Gap classic basics – the parka, the hoodie, the T-shirt and the cargo pant.

"We love mixing different cultures and we have been excited to mix Gap’s timeless essentials with our roman culture of couture," the label’s designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli explained. "It brings together the iconic world of Valentino and Gap’s fashion staples, synthesising the current trend of combining luxury with basics."

This new collaboration launches worldwide on November 27 in selected stores. Valentino is not the only brand to join ready-to-wear — this week (November 23), Lanvin launched its clothing collection for H & M stores.
