CBC Films has hired High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens for the cast of Beastly.
Based on the Alex Flinn novel of the same name, geared toward young adults, the story is a modern version of the classic Beauty and the Beast.
The action takes place in Manhattan where a handsome rich man becomes cursed after disregarding a tryst. He transforms into everything that he does not like and finds it impossible to find true love that could break the spell.
Alex Pettyfer is in talks to join the cast for the film, which is set to shoot in the summer.
Also this summer, on August 14, we can see Vanessa Hudgens in Bandslam with Lisa Kudrow and David Bowie.
