Due to the overwhelming success of Friday night tours, the Vatican announced that the visits will continue through September and October.
Visits at the Vatican museum, which includes the Sistine Chapel, are usually sold out. To enable a greater number of visitors, the Vatican opened the doors of the museum on Friday evenings beginning July 24, on an experimental basis.
However, the museum still requires visitors to book their spot on site. The evening tours are from 7 pm to 11 pm, with the last entry allowed at 9:30 pm.
