Emil Heineman and Jonathan Drouin once played for the Canadiens, and now they’re on the same team on Long Island. What’s even better? They’re playing on the same line… and they did some good talking today. The Swede scored his first goal in an Isles uniform, following a fine pass from the Québécois:

What a shot, honestly. We know Emil Heineman has a quality shot and he really showed it today. It takes talent to shoot like that… and you can see from the velocity of the puck that it was a really powerful shot.A great goal for the former Habs player… and Drouin did well on the sequence too, finding Heineman, who was able to take advantage afterwards [content-ads]

While we’re on the subject of Habs alumni…

After spending a season in Columbus, Jordan Harris is back in his hometown. He signed a one-year contract with the Bruins in the off-season and made the club after a good practice camp. And today, he scored his first goal in the black and youthful Bruins uniform:

On the footage, you can see how happy he is. It shows in his celebration, after all, because you can see him jumping on the bay window with a lot of emotion. And it’s got to be special, scoring for your childhood team… The pity of it all? Heineman and Harris scored their first goal for their new team in a losing cause. The Islanders lost 5-2 to the Winnipeg Jets (Jonathan Toews picked up his first point since April 13, 2023 in his team’s win) and the Bruins lost 4-3 to the Lightning. At least Heineman and Harris had a chance to stand out… [spacer title=’Overtime’] – A nice welcome for Jacques Martin.

– I love it.

– Yikes.

– Indeed.

– Hehe.
