Vienna Celebrates The Third Man

60 years after its release, Vienna celebrates the film classic, The Third Man.

The film, The Third Man, released in 1949 became a classic. 60 years later, Vienna has decided to offer various attractions in the city to discover the work that featured Orson Welles and Joseph Cotten.

People have different choices. They can take a walk to discover various filming locations or the more adventurous can go down into the sewers for an underground tour where the film was also shot. Tourists can also spend time in the museum dedicated to The Third Man. The museum is filled with posters and objects used during filming. The classic film can be viewed four times a week.

The Third Man tells the story of Holly Martins who after arriving in Vienna discovers that her friend, Harry Lime, has died mysteriously or has he?

After its release, The Third Man received the grand prize award at the Cannes Film Festival, an Oscar and a number of other film nominations.

In Hollywood, there are rumors of a remake with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire as the stars.
